Practical Preparation

Read Luke 2:1-20 carefully. To remind the students of Christ’s humble birth, do Manger Card during the “Welcome”. Separate Mary and Joseph Sticker and be sure to have one Manger Card and a Mary and Joseph Sticker for each child. A roll of masking tape or glue stick and jumbo brown crayons or pencil colors are also needed for the Manger Card craft. Rip or cut tape just before class and stick pieces to edge of table or cabinet. Have Vocabulary Flashcards ready for “Transition”. Read over “Bible Time” several times. Have students repeat the catechism questions, the refrain from “O Come, All Ye Faithful,” and the Let’s Move Poem and actions. Make sure to have snack supplies ready. Take out JESUS Cards and Good News book. Separate the two stickers. Put a book and stickers in an Envelope, one per child, to make passing out items easier.
